The design story for the place branding and feature ceiling of Bay Central is centred around the high-end waterfront living of the precinct, with a fresh urban approach, and the theme of ‘The Good Life’ continued through the architecture and interior design.
The feature ceiling is located at the main arrival point to the retail plaza. This increases user engagement and creates a point of gathering within the precinct.
Inspiration for the feature ceiling is drawn from the natural world. The panelled ceiling resembles the formations of water, with a circular whirling motion that creates a dynamic public artwork.
This further symbolises the magical reflection of human movement at the main intersection of the plaza.
“The captivating ceiling design, inspired by the flow of the Georges River, was crafted to create a dynamic focal point and elevate the visitor experience.”
