Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast is seeing a surge in interest as people both re-aquaint themselves with domestic holiday locations and consider lifestyle locations with the ability to work from home.
North Beach takes cues from the beachside locale with soft and flowing forms with associations of sand dunes, waves, water, and erosion by the elements; creating a more relaxed, less urban feel. While the built form defines the street, as it moves towards the beach the form becomes more eroded, exposing the apartments to the views, sun and coastal breezes.
Ripples and waves flow from facade to balcony, extending sweeping views to the horizon. Every apartment has a balcony that is open on at least two sides for an expansive feeling. Horizontal battened screens create shade, privacy and evoke the screened verandahs of the Queenslander.
Colours and materials also have a coastal palette of sand and soft greys, contrasted with planted greenery at each level off the lift lobby; complementing the organic nature of the design and providing a connection to nature for all residents at their front door.
